“Know Your Ombud” is one of the Council’s recent initiatives of 2025, in partnership with consumer journalist Maya Fisher-French, that helps financial customers understand their rights and what to do if they are treated unfairly.
In the introductory episode of a series of videos on the ombud system, Leanne Jackson, Chief Ombud/CEO of the Ombud Council, explains how the financial ombud system works, the role of the Ombud Council, and how the Treating Customers Fairly principles go beyond contracts to ensure fairness.
